(aka I discover online fabric shopping)

Girl Gotta Shop!

Join me as I start my historically inspired sewing journey – with an unboxing of my recent online shopping exploits. Then continue to visit my channel as I adapt the fashions of yesteryear to today’s wardrobe.

Spotlight is one of the big fabric stores here in Australia, and from there I picked up the wool blend for my skirt plus a lot of basics. And while I was there, I just had to pick up the cute black boater and some little bits with which to trim it. Still got a little bit more on order, coming later this week.

Sckafs Fabric is my local little store in Indooroopilly Shopping Town (I got my wedding dress fabric from them, way back when I sewed that). This trip I picked up some of my cambric lace (and sussed out some future purchases).

But my biggest find was some of the overseas stores that deliver to Australia (and fortunately I got in before the Aussie dollar tanked!) Mood Fabric is just brilliant for it’s range, and even more for it’s clear labelling and useful photos and information on the website – one of the best online shopping experiences I’ve had.

And no, this post isn’t sponsored, though I’m prepared to discuss it with any stores who wish to (hint, hint!) 😉
